Portraits

Last year I did a photo shoot here in Scotland for our American friends’ daughter who was finishing up secondary school, or a “school leaver” as they are called here. In the United States, students finishing up secondary school are called seniors, and getting “senior photos” is hugely popular.  Senior photos are typically distributed to family, shared between friends, or posted in the school yearbook. They go hand-in-hand with prom and graduation, which I’ve also learned are not part of the secondary school experience in Scotland! Anyway, it’s a great time in one’s life to get professional portraits as you are at a stage with a world of opportunity ahead of you. Although living in Scotland, this family upheld the American tradition. It was a lot of fun taking these “senior photos” at beautiful Loch Lomond.
